Out on Tuesday (January 7th) is a new book called Raising Hell: Backstage Tales From Metal Legends, in which some of the genre's most celebrated musicians recall stories of debauchery, wild shenanigans, and injuries resulting from the unpredictability and chaos that follows rockers on the road.
Some of the artists interviewed for the book include members of Slipknot, Stone Sour, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Pantera, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Ministry, Cradle Of Filth, Megadeth and more, all revealing tales of sex, drugs, painful injuries, criminal activities and a lot of other things you're not supposed to know about.
Slipknot's Corey Taylor told us a while back that his band has rarely let injuries stop them: “I'm very proud of the fact that I've only canceled four shows in my entire career, and it was only because I was just physically unable to do it. If you're able to do it, at least get up there, you know. At least do your best. I mean, the fans appreciate that beyond anything else. I think that's why we're still here, because we've never let that stuff stop us.”
Raising Hell: Backstage Tales From the Lives of Metal Legends is written by Jon Wiederhorn, co-author of the popular tome Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History of Metal.
