Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as one of the headliners of the 2020 BottleRock festival, along with Dave Matthews Band and Stevie Nicks.
The event will be held on May 22nd, 23rd and 24th at the Napa Valley Expo in northern California. Other confirmed acts include Of Monsters And Men, Foals, Billie Eilish's brother, collaborator and songwriter Finneas, Jimmy Eat World, Milky Chance, hip hop legends Eric B. & Rakim, 1970s disco icons the Village People, Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Janelle Monae, Khalid and many more.
The Chili Peppers will be performing with guitarist John Frusciante, who is returning to the band after a 10-year absence. The Los Angeles quartet may also have a new album ready to promote, although the details of that remain uncertain for now.
It's been a few years since the Chili Peppers last toured but singer Anthony Kiedis told us a while back that the band doesn't mind taking long breaks: “You know, we still like playing live, so we're going to do that as long as we can. But yeah, we decide for how long we want to go away and it works out better that way because when you're playing the same bunch of twenty songs or so every night on tour you start to lose your creative impulse. So it's good to give it a rest and come home and write new stuff, and go like that.”
Tickets for BottleRock go on sale Tuesday (January 7th) at 10:00 a.m. PT and are expected to sell out quickly. General admission passes are $359 while VIP passes start at $849.
