Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and his side band The Coattail Riders have shared a new video for “Middle Child,” a song from the group's latest album, Get The Money. Foo Fighters main man Dave Grohl guests on guitar.
The clip features Hawkins prancing around in leopard leggings while singing to his real-life daughter Annabelle. The video begins with Hawkins and Annabelle watching depressing news headlines on TV, before giving way to a colorful fantasy land inspired by vintage MTV green screens. It ends with father and daughter dancing before flying away on a unicorn.
Get The Money is Hawkins’ third LP with the Coattail Riders and came out last November. In addition to Grohl, the album features cameos from Joe Walsh, Pat Smear, Perry Farrell, Roger Taylor, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde and others.
Hawkins told us a while back that he still gets a charge out of playing alongside his musical idols: “Not only do you get to just, like, pinch yourself — 'Wow, I'm in the room with this person' — but you also get to kind of try and soak up a little bit of what they do musically, you know. It's neat. It really is amazing, and you really get to be in the presence of greatness when you're with people like that.”
Hawkins will return to full-time duty this year with the Foos, who are reportedly working on their 10th studio LP.
