Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and his band The Coattail Riders performed on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night (January 7th), where they were joined by Foos frontman Dave Grohl and Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell.
Grohl played drums on the song “Middle Child,” while Farrell sang on “I Really Blew It.” The two musicians also appear on the studio versions of the songs, which can both be found on the latest Coattail Riders album, Get The Money.
Hawkins confided to us a while back that even though he's spent years on the road, he still gets nervous before going on stage: “The drummer's got the hardest job, man. If the drummer falls apart at any given moment, you're done. The band, it's over. It sounds awful, you have to start again. So I mean, I feel a lot more pressure behind the drums even though that's all I've been doing my whole life is play drums. I still have massive stage fright every night.”
Get The Money is Hawkins’ third LP with the Coattail Riders and came out last November. In addition to Grohl and Farrell, the album features cameos from Joe Walsh, Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde and others.
Hawkins will return to full-time duty this year with the Foos, who are reportedly working on their 10th studio LP.
