Grey Daze, the mid-1990s band that featured late singer Chester Bennington before he became a star with Linkin Park, has released a documentary that highlights both the group's Phoenix-based origins and Bennington's goal to bring its music into the modern era.
The short film features footage of Bennington announcing the Grey Daze reunion in early 2017, as well as interviews with the surviving band members, Bennington's parents and others.
The documentary also goes behind the scenes into the recording of the forthcoming album, featuring comments from guests such as Korn's Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer, Bush's Chris Traynor and more.
The yet-to-be-titled album resurrects and refurbishes the original recordings from two independent records Grey Daze recorded in 1993 and 1996. The first single, “What's In The Eye,” arrived last week. Bennington took his own life in July 2017.
