Shinedown has notched both its 15th Number One hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart and its 16th chart-topper on the Mediabase Active Rock radio survey, both for the title track and current single from the band's sixth studio LP, Attention Attention.
Both achievements are chart records, with Shinedown tying Three Days Grace for most Number Ones on both lists.
“Attention Attention” is also the Florida act's fifth consecutive Number One single, including three previous entries from the Attention Attention album and one from the group's previous effort, 2015's Threat To Survival.
Every one of Shinedown's 26 consecutive singles has reached the Top Five on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, which remains a record in itself.
Shinedown singer Brent Smith told us that rock music never really goes out of style: “It will always go in cycles. The thing that's never going to change and the beauty of it is, is that nothing will ever, ever take the place of drums, bass, guitar, badass vocals and a killer song. And that's what the heartbeat is of what rock 'n' roll truly, truly is.”
Shinedown will next head out on the “Deep Dive Tour,” on which the band will delve into its catalog to perform a selection of deep cuts and B-sides along with their biggest hits. The trek kicks off on April 15th in Chattanooga, Tennessee and wraps May 19th in Las Vegas.
