The Strokes have announced a handful of North American concerts in March. They will play Vancouver, British Columbia on March 5th, Seattle on March 9th, and Los Angeles on March 14th. There's no word yet on whether the band intends to book more shows.
The general on-sale will start on Friday (January 31st) at 10:00 a.m. for the Los Angeles show and noon for the Vancouver and Seattle concerts. Special guests King Princess and Alvvays will join the Strokes in L.A. Alvvays will also appear in Seattle and Vancouver.
The band confirmed during a New Year's Eve (December 31st) show at Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center that they will release a new album in 2020. The new disc will be the garage rockers' first set of fresh music since 2016's Future Present Past EP, and first full LP since they issued Comedown Machine in 2013.
Singer Julian Casablancas told the crowd, “Yeah, we’ve got a new album coming out soon! 2020, here we come. The 2010s, whatever the f**k they’re called, we took ‘em off. And now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back.” The band then unveiled a new song called “Ode To The Mets.”
