Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has shared the second track from her upcoming debut solo album, Petals For Armor.
Titled “Leave It Alone,” the new song is accompanied by a video and follows “Simmer,” which was issued last week. Both songs were produced by Paramore guitarist Taylor York.
Williams began teasing the release of “Leave it Alone” on Wednesday (January 29th), tweeting, “There’s more to the story. It’s almost never what you think.”
The singer recently said on Beats One that the song deals with her feelings about death, explaining, “I just thought like, what is the point of loving people? Like why? Even in the best case scenario, I fall in love, we have a life together and then we lose one or the other. It’s terrifying. The more you love, the more you stand to lose . . . I struggle with it all the time.”
Petals For Armor is out May 8th and is Williams' first new music since the last Paramore LP, After Laughter, came out in 2017.
