Maddie & Tae's full-length sophomore album, called The Way It Feels, will be released on April 10th. It includes songs and stories from their previous two EPs shared last year along with five brand new tracks all co-written by Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye.
Tae tells writing their own music is important because it's a way of sharing certain messages with fans. “I think that something Maddie and I want to say to people through our songs, especially through this new chapter of live, is that we’ve lived a lot of life in the past couple of years, but no matter what phase we go through, we always want to have that self-confidence and self-awareness to just go through any type of chapter life throws at us. We’ve had some ups and downs, but through it all we’ve just stayed ourselves and we’ve stayed true to our songwriting. And I think a lot of people are going to learn that about us, if they didn’t know it already, and hopefully love it.”
Maddie said, “It has been four years since we’ve released an album. For us, this is a lot more than just an album release. This sophomore album will always be a reminder that no matter the setbacks and struggles, we will come out stronger and better. We are so proud of this 15 song story. We wrote these songs during the most vulnerable times and our hope is that people hear that and connect.”
Tae added, “The Way it Feels is finally here! These songs will always represent something so beautiful and spiritual to us. And hopefully, it will represent something similar to people who listen.”
The duo's headlining Tourist In This Town Tour kicks off in April. Tickets are available now at maddieandtae.com/tour. This summer, Maddie & Tae will join Lady Antebellum on their Ocean Tour.
