Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has shared another three songs from her upcoming debut solo album, Petals For Armor. The three tracks, “Cinnamon,” “Sudden Desire” and “Creepin'” have combined with two previously released tunes — “Simmer” and “Leave It Alone” — to form an EP called Petals For Armor 1.
Williams explained, “There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others. It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it.”
“Cinnamon” has also been accompanied by a music video. The complete Petals For Armor album is due out May 8th and is the first new music from Williams since the last Paramore effort, After Laughter, arrived in 2017.
Williams told us a while back that she wasn't always interested in being a singer: “Growing up I always wanted to be in a band, but I never thought about being a lead singer. I was like, 'Oh, I'll do something like play the drums so I can be behind everyone.' 'Cause I don't care about the attention and it's a little bit overwhelming at times.”
Williams plans to tour behind Petals For Armor, which chronicles her struggles with grief and depression over the last few years.
