30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto has announced that he and the band will host their second annual festival on the Croatian island of Obonjan this summer. The event, dubbed “Mars Island,” will take place from August 21st through the 24th.
It's described as a “three-night, all-inclusive festival experience with yoga amongst the trees, swimming, relaxation and intimate performances by Leto and his band. The event made its debut in Croatia last summer.
30 Seconds To Mars released its fifth and latest album, America, in 2018. It featured the chart-topping Alternative hit “Dangerous Night.” During the LP's touring cycle, the band parted ways with guitarist Tomo Milicevic after 15 years.
Jared Leto is scheduled this summer in Morbius, a spin-off of the Spider-Man franchise in which Leto will play a scientist who becomes a “living vampire” while searching for a cure to his rare blood disease.
Leto explained to us a while back how he chooses his film roles: “I know for myself, what I'm interested in as a film watcher — and someone who, you know, is a part of making films — is I want to be proud of what I do. I want to make good films. I want to make great films. I want to work with directors that have a vision and films that have something to say. You know, and I'd like to make films that are entertaining as well, on top of that.”
Morbius also features Jared Harris from Chernobyl, former Doctor Who star Matt Smith and Adria Arjona. Leto's previous films include Suicide Squad, Blade Runner 2049 and Dallas Buyers Club.
