Foo Fighters are teasing something on their social media accounts called DC Jam. That's a reference to the Cal Jam festivals that the Foos staged in California in 2017 and 2018, suggesting that Dave Grohl and the gang could be planning a similar blowout for the nation's capital, where Grohl began his career on the city's punk scene more than 30 years ago.
The event is likely to be part of the Foos' 25th anniversary celebration this year, which is already set to include a string of dates retracing the band's first trek back in 1995, an upcoming documentary about van touring directed by Grohl and a new studio album.
The Foos' two Cal Jam festivals featured a number of big rock acts like Queens Of The Stone Age, Iggy Pop, Garbage, Liam Gallagher, Cage The Elephant, The Kills and many more.
The DC Jam event, if it happens, may also be a successor to the Foos' gigantic 20th anniversary show that it staged at Washington D.C.'s RFK Stadium on July 4th, 2015. That event featured the likes of Joan Jett, Gary Clark Jr., Heart and Buddy Guy in addition to the headliners.
Washington, D.C. has special significance for Grohl as the Virginia native's first band, Scream, made its name on D.C.'s famous hardcore scene.
