AC/DC's long-rumored new album will feature “some surprises,” according to Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider.
In an interview with Sirius/XM, Snider revealed that he recently had dinner with AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, saying, “The 'classic' lineup is back together and there are some surprises, which I can't talk about, regarding Malcolm Young that just had my jaw on the floor. I will say he will be present. So this is AC/DC as we know and love them.”
AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young died in 2017, three years after he stepped down from the band due to being afflicted with dementia.
Johnson left the band four years ago mid-tour due to a dangerous level of hearing loss. That same trek — the cycle for the band's most recent album, Rock Or Bust — also saw the departures of longtime bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd.
But reports for the past year and a half have indicated that co-founder and guitarist Angus Young has reassembled the classic band to record a new LP which will serve as a tribute to his brother — utilizing previously unreleased guitar tracks from Malcolm.
