Five Finger Death Punch singer Ivan Moody went into detail during an interview with the Talkin' Rock With Meltdown podcast about recently becoming a grandfather at the age of 40. Moody's oldest daughter was born in 1998.
Asked how it felt to be a grandfather, Moody answered, “It's really what you leave behind. To know that my kids are coming to an age when they're having their own kids . . . this is the weirdest part: my youngest (daughter) is seven years old, so she's an aunt, so how does this even f**king happen? It's cool, really. I really dig it, but at the same time, not really willing to accept the 'grandpa' term yet.”
Moody spoke with us a while back about his oldest and youngest daughters: “They both are beautiful women, but on different paths entirely. And whether that be the way that I have raised them or lessons learned from my end as well as theirs, it's about watching my eldest basically being an adult at this point, and the decisions she's making and how they're changing her future, as well as my youngest daughter — to see the things that she's doing that will form what is to be her future.”
Moody is celebrating two years of sobriety this month and many of the vocalist's experiences fueled the lyrics of the new Five Finger album, F8, which came out on February 28th and sold 55,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at Number Eight on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.
