The Killers will release their sixth studio LP, Imploding The Mirage, on May 29th. The band has previewed the album with a new single called “Caution,” featuring ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, and have also mapped out an extensive world tour that hits North America in late summer.
Frontman Brandon Flowers told Apple Music about the new song, “It’s sort of about having the wherewithal to listen to that angel on your shoulder, even if they’re telling you something that you don’t want to hear. And I think for me with this song was a lot about leaving Las Vegas. I was having this sort of hunch or impression that that was something that I was supposed to do for my family.”
The Killers were formed in Las Vegas and Flowers told us a while back why he loved the city: “After being around everywhere, I just love how wide open it is. You're not encircled in gigantic apartment buildings and crammed together. It's really open and you can see the sky and I love the desert and it's a beautiful city at night as well.”
According to Flowers, the 10-track follow-up to 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful will also include additional cameos from guests like Adam Granduciel of The War On Drugs, k.d. lang and others.
The tour in support of the disc, which the group is billing as its biggest ever, will hit Europe from May to July before arriving on these shores in late August. All tickets for the North American shows go on sale Friday, March 20th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Tickets will be accompanied by a copy of Imploding The Mirage on CD.
