Tame Impala has shared a remixed version of its new album, The Slow Rush. Titled The Slow Rush In An Imaginary Place, the new edition has been edited to sound like it’s being played from another room or even underground.
Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker wrote about the experiment, “I made something for all you isolators out there. I call it The Slow Rush In An Imaginary Place. Headphones required for full immersive effect. See you in there.”
The current single from The Slow Rush, “Lost In Yesterday,” is Number 12 on the alternative chart, marking the first significant airplay that the Australian act has gotten on commercial U.S. radio.
The Slow Rush came out in February and follows up 2015’s Currents. It was recorded between Los Angeles and Parker’s studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia. Tame Impala is scheduled to tour this spring and summer in North America and has yet to move or reschedule the dates.
