Music collectible manufacturer KnuckleBonz is expanding its line of Ghost action figures. Available for pre-order are figures of the elderly Papa Nihil character, complete with stage backdrop, and two of the Nameless Ghoul guitarists, one with a black guitar and one with a white one.
Each highly detailed figure is limited to 3,000 copies, hand-painted, numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity on the base. The hand-made figures are currently in production and slated to ship in the fall of 2020. Each statue sells for $149 and ships worldwide.
Ghost ended its recent tour cycle on March 3rd in Mexico City by introducing the next figure who will front the band when it returns in 2021. After the elderly Papa Nihil “collapsed” onstage, a large group of nuns came out around current singer Cardinal Copia and transformed him into Papa Emeritus IV.mCopia and all four Papas have been portrayed by the same person, Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge.
Forge was interested in wearing costumes from a young age and said his older brother inspired him to dress as his favorite rockers: “He was a punk rocker so he had like belts with spikes on it, and all kinds of paraphernalia that you could dress up with. I have photos at home when I'm three, four years old, dressed up in his stuff and like a combination of — because I wanted to look like Dee Snider and Nikki Sixx. So I had, like, mom's stockings on. You know, I dug through mom's closet and found high, sort of over-the-knee boots, that I sort of could climb into.”
Even before the pandemic struck, Ghost had no other tour dates on its schedule for 2020 and was planning to focus on recording its fifth studio album for a 2021 release.
