Channing Tatum and Jessie J split in late 2019 after dating for more than a year, only to get back together in January. But now, they’ve split again after realizing they just couldn’t make it work.
A source tells People: “They cared enough about each other to try again but realized it was better to move on. It’s totally amicable.”
The first time around, insiders said the love was there, but the timing was off, with Tatum wanting to focus on co-parenting Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
Also complicating matters was the fact that trolls online were constantly comparing Dewan and J’s looks, a fact that seemed to frustrate everyone. In January, after reuniting, Tatum flipped out on a follower who suggested that J wasn’t as attractive as Dewan.
“hey Alex i don't usually address sh*t like this,” Tatum wrote. “But you seem as good a of terrible happy people hating thoughtless person as any of them. why dont you seriously think about what your doing. It's hurtful and i ain't about it.”
He added: “And ain't no body more stunning and beautiful to look at but even more as a human than Jess. And yeah that includes my ex.”
That remark seemed to offend Tatum’s fiancé Steve Kazee who shared a meme of Will Ferrell in Instagram Stories, that said “Watch your mouth.” He wrote underneath it, “That reckless talk bruh…”
