A video featuring a song from Chester Bennington’s time with his first band, Grey Daze, has been posted online.
The song, “Sometimes” was written by the Linkin Park frontman when he was just 18 years old. The video starts with a recording of a woman calling Bennington, saying she’s going through a hard time. The clip proceeds to show Bennington’s lyrics comforting her. “Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter.”
Before his suicide in 2017, he had reconnected with his former bandmates of Grey Daze and had plans to re-record their old songs. The group’s drummer, Sean Dowdell, decided recently to move forward with the project and he and his bandmates cut new music to Bennington’s vocals. Dowdell stated in a recent interview: “This is one of those songs that when I hear it now, I recognize the pain Chester was living with even more acutely now that I’m an adult.”
The music will be on a new album called Amends, to be released June 26th.
