At 82, Jane Fonda is showing no signs of slowing down. But because social isolation has put her hit Netflix show Grace & Frankie and her weekly Fire Drill Friday environmental protests on ice for the time being, the actress is reviving her classic workout series on TikTok, but not for your bod … for the planet.
Fonda’s workouts essentially changed the at-home exercise game in the 1980s, and she is aiming to do it again, saying that there are “too many workouts happening right now on television and on computers” and that what she really wants is for everyone to “work out for the planet.”
Fans can work up a sweat for their health and the planet’s with Fonda every Friday “on your couch or your yoga mat” as part of her efforts “to keep the pressure on politicians to adopt a #GreenNewDeal, end new fossil fuels, and enact a just transition to a renewable economy that protects workers and communities.”
Within hours of posting her first workout on Instagram and TikTok, it was watched more than 300,000 times, with many followers praising her as a “national treasure.”
