The Strokes have shared “Brooklyn Bridge To Chorus,” a song from the New York City band's upcoming album The New Abnormal. The new track follows two previous singles, “Bad Decisions” and “At The Door.”
The group's sixth studio album and first in seven years is due out this Friday (April 10th). It's the quintet's first full-length collection of new material since 2013's Comedown Machine.
The Strokes have never liked doing a lot to promote their music, which guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. told us a while back is intentional: “It's just something we learned, you know. Even though people want you to do this or that sometimes, you have to learn how to say no, and just know that if you keep on going, you'll end up doing it later, and you can't always do everything, 'cause it gets to be too much. As much fun as it is, and as great as it is, it gets to be too much, and when you're not enjoying yourself, then you've lost the reason why you even started to do it.”
The Strokes were supposed to make a number of festival appearances, in addition to a brief run of West Coast arena shows last month, in support of the new LP, but those plans have been put on hold for now to the coronavirus pandemic.
