Twitter is reacting, mostly with displeasure, to the news that Louis C.K., an admitted sexual harasser, continues to stage a career revival. This time, he’s offering a new stand-up special, titled Sincerely Louis C.K., through his own website for $7.99.
In a nod to the pandemic, the beleaguered comic said it was for “those who need to laugh.” He continued: “In fact, the sh****er things get, the more serious, the more dark the more terrifying, the more dangerous and dire anything is, the more important it is to laugh in the midst of it and often directly in its face.”
Reaction was mixed. Wrote one critic: “Everyone is trapped in a room, terrified and exhausted. There has never been a more appropriate time for Louis CK to release a comedy special.”
Another wrote: “Louis CK releasing a special when no one can leave the room feels pretty on brand TBH.”
