Former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum has posted a video online of him performing the Guns classic “Patience” on acoustic guitar.
Sorum wrote, “Here I am again with my guitar. I'm out in the backyard here in the desert. You see my palm trees. It's getting a little chilly, so I put on this wooly hat in tribute to Izzy Stradlin, one of the writers of this next song. I was very fortunate to play with my old bandmates on this song. Obviously, I was on the drums. I'm gonna play it for you tonight on the guitar and sing it. I hope you enjoy my version.”
Sorum's memoir, Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'N' Roll Stories From The Drummer Of Guns N' Roses, The Cult, And Velvet Revolver, has had its release pushed back from April 7th to July 7th.
Sorum, who replaced Steven Adler in Guns, played on the 1991 albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II as well as 1994's “The Spaghetti Incident?” Sorum was inducted as a member of the band into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012.
