Slipknot's No. 9 Iowa Whiskey Reserve was chosen as 2019's “best celebrity-related whiskey” by Forbes, as noted in taster Fred Minnick's “Best American Whiskey: A Taste Off.”
Minnick, who also gave out accolades in categories such as best wheat whiskey, best barrel finish and others, sat down with Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan for a two-part podcast, the first of which can be streamed now. The second installment will be out Friday (April 17th).
The liquor goes on sale for the first time this year on Friday, with pre-orders available now from RoselleParkWines.com. Slipknot No. 9 Iowa Whiskey Reserve is currently available in the U.S. only but will be available for purchase in other territories soon.
Slipknot isn't the only heavy rock band with its own brand of whiskey. There's Metallica's Blackened, which was introduced in 2018. Alice In Chains announced its “All Secrets Known” bourbon this past fall, while Motorhead has had special edition releases, among others.
