Being a parent has definitely affected Thomas Rhett's songwriting. He makes sure his songs are something he could play for his three daughters at any time, as he tells us: “We definitely keep that in mind. Like, all these guys can tell you, when I’m writin’ a song and there’s a line that doesn’t fully represent my ethics or my morals, then it ain’t gonna be in the song. I just want to make sure that when my kids do hear my songs there’s nothing that they can go to school and say, ‘Well my dad said do that.’ You know what I’m saying? Like that would destroy me, I think.”
Thomas is climbing the charts with two songs these days — “Beer Can't Fix” featuring Jon Pardi, which sits in the Top Five, and “Be A Light,” featuring Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum, and contemporary Christian singer Chris Tomlin, which sits inside the Top 30.
