A fourth Metallica-headlined North American festival has been canceled.
The Louder Than Life fest, scheduled to take place in Louisville, Kentucky in September, has been scrapped, joining its sister spring events Sonic Temple, Epicenter and Welcome To Rockville. Metallica was scheduled to headline those events as well before the coronavirus pandemic derailed those plans.
According to the press release, ticket buyers will receive refunds for their purchase, and Danny Wimmer Presents will be sending out an email with options and procedures next week. The promoter said that “planning realities” and “the advice of health officials” sealed the fate of the event.
Earlier in the year, Danny Wimmer Presents announced that Louder Than Life would expand to four days instead of three, with Metallica as an additional headliner. Other headliners this year reportedly included Tool and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
