Foo Fighters main man Dave Grohl gave a surprise intimate performance of “Everlong” on Monday night's (April 27th) edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to TJ Riley, an ER nurse who has been fighting COVID-19 on the frontline.
Riley, who works at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and also survived the disease, was given $10,000 by Kimmel and the special serenade from Grohl as Kimmel's “Health Care Hero” of the day.
The frontline healthcare worker said that all he sees these days are COVID-19 patients, and that 60 percent of his coworkers have also caught the virus. His husband and parents were also infected.
After thanking the nurse and telling him about the money, Kimmel brought on Grohl, who is Riley’s favorite musician. The two chatted for a moment before Grohl picked up his guitar and begin to play.
