Five Finger Death Punch has donated over $150,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation. The money comes from a portion of the ticket sales from the band's 2019 U.S. fall arena tour, as well as proceeds from their hit single “Blue On Black.”
The Foundation will use the funds to help America's defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need.
The video for “Blue On Black,” which also features Kenny Wayne Shepherd — who co-wrote and recorded the original version — Brantley Gilbert and Queen's Brian May, has garnered over 37 million views to date.
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory said, “We were always vocal about where we stand when it comes to veterans or first responders . . . During this current pandemic, it's even more pronounced that these men and women deserve respect and all the support they can get. They are essential and do not have the option to isolate and sit out the dangerous times.”
The Gary Sinise Foundation was started by Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Gary Sinise, who is best known for his roles in Forrest Gump and CSI: NY. The Foundation raises $30 million a year for veterans and first responders.
