Sting is the latest artist to take part in the Covid-19-inspired “In My Room” video session for Rolling Stone. Sting played in his home studio with backing tracks, and was filmed performing his Police classic “Message In A Bottle,” along with his solo favorites “Englishman In New York,” and “Fragile.”
Sting told the viewers: “I’m lucky enough to have a recording studio here, where I can work everyday. I’m very fortunate; I’m very grateful. I’m also grateful for our healthcare workers, who are doing an extraordinary job, risking their lives everyday on the front line. The best thing that we can do is to help them, and not to get sick, and not to add to their workload, because we are all in this together.” (Rolling Stone)
Mick Jagger and Bryan Adams will be taking part in the iFor India concert online concert, which can be streamed today (March 4th) at 10 am ET via Facebook’s Indian app. The online concert of pre-recorded performances will raise funds to battle Covid-19, and also feature appearances by Jack Black, the Jonas Brothers, Will Smith, and many others. Sammy Hagar & The Circle are keeping their “Lockdown Challenge” going with a red-hot self-quarantine version of AC/DC's 1977 behemoth “Whole Lotta Rosie.” Hagar, along with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Vic Johnson have already tackled versions of the Who's “Won't Get Fooled Again,” Bob Marley & The Wailers' “Three Little Birds,” Van Halen's “Good Enough,” and their own original jam, “Funky Feng Shui.”
Jimmy Page's partner, Scarlett Sabet, spoke about the couple's quiet private live. Sabet, who is 45 years younger than the Led Zeppelin co-founder, revealed to Tatler magazine, “We don't go out to parties or clubs. Obviously Jimmy has lived but now he doesn't drink either, so that's another thread that binds us. He's seen people who have died, he's lost best friends. He's seen all sides of that coin. . . We don't entertain in the house. Jimmy's children come to stay, which is lovely. My siblings come too. . . Other than that, we like it to be just us.” (Music-News)
Grammy Award-winner Christopher Cross has revealed that a side effect of his battle with the coronavirus is the onset of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Cross who has been dealing with corona-related paralysis, took to social media to thank fans for their support, explaining he's working with a physical therapist, saying in part: “Being in a wheelchair has taught me a lot about patience and resilience, and especially to count my blessings. I’m grateful for all of you who have supported me with your well-wishes and prayers. Believe me, they’ve had a positive effect. Thank you, again, for being there.”
John Fogerty and his kids — along with their golden retriever — have once again thrilled fans with another heartfelt and spot-on rendition of a Creedence Clearwater Revival evergreen. Fogerty, his daughter Kelsey, and his sons and bandmates Shane and Tyler performed 1969's “Green River” around the family's backyard fire-pit while roasting marshmallows in the light of a beautiful L.A. sunset.
