Former Blink-182 guitarist and singer Tom DeLonge seems to think that he will definitely play with the band again, but says it's all down to the “timing.”
DeLonge co-founded the band with bassist Mark Hoppus in 1992, but quit in 2004, rejoined in 2009 and left again in 2015. He was replaced the last time by Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba.
DeLonge was asked by Rolling Stone about a message he posted on Instagram about Blink, although he said fans shouldn't read much into it. He explained, “I talk to Mark and Travis every so often. I just talked to Mark the other day, and I talk to Travis about every week or two. And you know, I was feeling a little sentimental, but there’s no hidden message there or anything.”
He added, “Everyone wants to know, ‘Are you guys gonna play again?’ Yeah, of course we are. We just gotta figure out the timing, how it works for everybody.”
DeLonge said that he's busy now with “multiple film projects,” along with his To The Stars Academy and his other band Angels And Airwaves, who are preparing to release a new LP. He said, “I have all these priorities I’m responsible for, and I can’t just stop and go do a Blink-182 tour because it sounds like fun.”
Blink, meanwhile, has recorded and toured behind two albums since DeLonge's departure, California and Nine.
