Marilyn Manson is the subject of a new book of photography called 21 Years In Hell, due out in June. The book features 21 years of classic and previously unpublished pictures of Manson by British photographer Perou, who has become the singer's principal photographer since they first met on a shoot in 1998.
The book features over 350 photographs, including conceptual portraits, informal behind-the-scenes pictures and onstage images. Many of the images reportedly show vulnerable sides of Manson's personality that have rarely been glimpsed by the public.
Manson said in a statement about Perou, “I just remember the first time you showed up…bomber jacket, high laced boots, fully British, barely understandable. I became automatically comfortable around you and that’s the most important part.”
Perou is one of the world's leading portrait photographers. He has worked with many famous bands, artists and personalities, such as Al Gore, Gillian Anderson, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, David Beckham, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, U2 and more.
Manson recently completed work on his 11th studio album. A title and release date for the project have yet to be unveiled.
