Joining the long list of postponed or canceled tours, Disturbed's trek celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut album The Sickness has been put on hold. The road trip, which was slated to begin on July 15th and also feature Staind and Bad Wolves, will now take place in summer 2021.
Disturbed said online, “We have waited as long as we possibly could to finalize the plans for our 20th Anniversary of 'The Sickness' summer tour. We had hoped that there would be some clear direction and guidelines on how mass gatherings would be conducted this summer.”
The statement continued, “Unfortunately, that clarity has not come and out of an abundance of caution we have made the decision to RESCHEDULE until Next Summer. We are working to get these dates rescheduled and look forward to sharing an update soon.”
The band added that refund options will be made available once the dates are rescheduled.
For a band like Disturbed, playing concerts might be a challenge for a while in the wake of the pandemic. Guitarist Dan Donegan told us that Disturbed likes to involve its fans in its live performances as much as possible: “I never really liked bands just going up, going through the motions and just playing their songs and getting off. We try to do what we can to incorporate the crowd to make them feel part of the show.”
Released on March 7th, 2000, The Sickness is Disturbed's best-selling album to date, thanks to such hit singles as “Stupify,” “Voices” and “Down With The Sickness.”
