Volbeat's 2016 album Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie has been certified quintuple or five times platinum in the band's native Denmark for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. The certifications were awarded by IFPI Denmark, the Danish branch of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
By comparison, a platinum award is given out in the United States for sales of more than one million copies or equivalent album units.
Seal The Deal featured the Number One rock tracks “The Devil's Bleeding Crown” and “Black Rose.”
Volbeat's latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released last August and yielded the Number One rock radio singles “Last Day Under The Sun” and “Die To Live.” The latter was Volbeat's eighth rock chart-topper, breaking the band out of a tie with U2 for the most Number Ones by an act based outside of North America.
Volbeat's previously announced U.S. tour with Clutch was officially canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled to kick off in early April, the trek was moved to the fall with dates to be announced. A decision was made this week to cancel it outright.
