In This Moment singer Maria Brink was asked in an interview with Metal Hammer which other musicians she would like to collaborate with.
Brink named Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor first, saying he would be a “dream to work with.” In This Moment covered NIN's “Closer” in 2012 and Brink told us at the time why she wanted to do it: “That was really interesting. I've always loved Nine Inch Nails, so it was really cool to do that. I think we just connect to certain songs and they — you love them so much and they bring you to a time and a moment and it makes you feel all this stuff, so I think just to be in that song and be able to create that song yourself is just, it's awesome.”
Deftones singer Chino Moreno was next, with Brink explaining, “(He's) been my favorite singer for a long time, his voice is super-angelic and so real.” Brink also cited Tool's Maynard James Keenan and Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks.
In This Moment has previously worked with Judas Priest's Rob Halford on their 2017 song “Black Wedding,” while Brink has also appeared on a Papa Roach track and cut a cover of Queen's “We Will Rock You” with Halestorm's Lzzy Hale and The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen.
In This Moment's latest album, Mother, arrived in late March. The first single is called “The In-Between.”
