Pearl Jam will lead a lineup of largely Seattle-based performers for a newly announced virtual COVID-19 relief concert. All In WA airs on June 10th and will also feature Death Cab For Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard, Dave Matthews, Brandi Carlile, Ciara, Macklemore and others, including team members from the Seattle Seahawks.
The charity event will be streamed on Twitch via Amazon Music’s channel, as well as on local Seattle television stations KING 5 and KONG at 7:00 pm PT.
Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron told us a while back that he and his fellow musicians have always remained loyal to Seattle and its music scene: “We started out very humbly here in the Northwest, and I don't think we've ever really gone too far from those sort of ideals, which were real do-it-yourself, '80s underground ideals.”
The money raised through the broadcast will be put toward several local organizations working on youth homelessness, food security and other issues. All In WA has already raised $20 million of its $65 million goal and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says he will match individual donations under $1 million, with a cap at $25 million in total.
Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder has already done virtual at home performances for charity since the COVID-19 pandemic hit and postponed the band’s 2020 tour. This event will mark the first time Pearl Jam performs live together in two years.
