Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor revealed in an interview on SiriusXM that there are no plans for the band to work on new music anytime soon. Stone Sour's last album was 2017's Hydrograd.
Taylor explained that Stone Sour is “kind of on the backburner right now. We all kind of felt that we did exactly what we wanted to do on Hydrograd and we're just giving it a minute . . . So, yeah, I think Stone Sour is kind of on hiatus right now, which is fine. If someday we wanna get back together and do some stuff, it'll be bigger than it was. But for right now, we're all kind of focused on kind of doing our own thing.”
Taylor told us a while back that he's never tried to plan out his next step too much: “I've always had the mentality that if you enter things with no expectations, you will give your best, you will give your all. You're not worried about, you know, how it's going to be received or if it's gonna do well or if you're gonna make any money at it. You're just concentrated on making sure that it's the best thing that you can possibly put out there. And it hasn't failed me yet, hopefully.”
Taylor finished recording his debut solo album, although he has yet to announce a title or release date. His main band, Slipknot, recently canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, pushing them into 2021.
