The Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen said in a new radio interview that while not actively pursuing acting again at this point, she would “never say never” to restarting her previous career.
Momsen began acting at the age of three with a part in a Shake 'N' Bake commercial, landing her first big role as Cindy Lou Who in 2000's How The Grinch Stole Christmas. She later became famous as bad girl Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl.
She ended up leaving the show for good after the fourth season, later telling various media outlets that her acting career felt “like a past life.”
Asked by Tucson's Rock 102.1 KFMA if she is fully committed to music and whether she still feels like acting is behind her, Momsen said, “I will never not play rock and roll music; I'm gonna be playing rock and roll music till I'm dead. For a long time, I said I'd never act again, but I've gotten older now, and who knows? It's not something I'm actively pursuing in any way, but never say never, I guess.”
Even though she's left acting behind, Momsen told us a while back that she's not embarrassed by her previous job: “I mean, it's a part of your past so you roll with it, but I don't, I barely remember it. I mean, I was three in the commercial and five in The Grinch, so (laughs) it's a very distant memory. But when it's on, I'll leave it on for about two minutes and then I change the channel (laughs) — it's a little too trippy.”
Death By Rock And Roll, the fourth studio album from The Pretty Reckless, will arrive in January 2021. The title track has just cracked the Top 10 at rock radio.
