Lindsey Buckingham has just cancelled his entire string of summer shows due to the ongoing pandemic. The former-Fleetwood Mac leader had pushed his spring dates for April and May back until July and August, hoping that enough of the restrictions would've loosened up, but Best Classic Bands has now posted that all of the shows have been scrapped.
The eight-show-run was set to kick off on July 31st in St. Louis, Missouri at The Pageant and wrapping on August 30th in Knoxville, Tennessee at The Bijou Theatre. There were still a handful of shows from the original spring run that fans were awaiting makeup dates.
In addition to the clutch of Mac standards, a highlight of Lindsey Buckingham's recent shows are his two early-'80s MTV staples, “Trouble” and “Go Insane.” Buckingham recalls that although 1981's “Trouble” was his only solo Top 10 hit, 1984's “Go Insane” benefited greatly from heavy exposure on MTV: “You could say that Law And Order and Go Insane were both done to some degree under duress (laughs). And y'know, those had to be squeezed in between whatever the needs were of touring and recording of the group at the time. I think the song 'Go Insane' — I'm not sure if the song itself was as big a hit as the song 'Trouble' was — but when 'Trouble' was out there really was very little video going on and I believe that 'Go Insane' made a substantial splash on MTV.”
