The Pretty Reckless has shared the official lyric video for “Death By Rock And Roll,” the first single from and title track of the band's upcoming fourth album.
The title itself was first inspired by the band's longtime friend and producer, Kato Khandwala, who passed away in April 2018. Singer Taylor Momsen explained its origin to us: “The phrase came about about 10 years ago. Kato, our late producer and my best friend, he said, 'Write a song about death and rock 'n' roll, something with death and rock 'n' roll.' And we started writing something and it didn't really come to fruition. And then when he passed 10 years later, that came back around. And so that kind of became the anthem of this line, 'Death By Rock And Roll.'”
The Death By Rock And Roll album is expected to arrive in January 2021. The title track is currently Number Six at rock radio.
The Pretty Reckless debuted in 2010 with its first album, Light Me Up, then broke out in 2014 with Going To Hell, which entered the Billboard 200 at Number Five and yielded three rock hits in “Heaven Knows,” “F**ked Up World” and “Follow Me Down.”
