BLINK-182 DROPS 'QUARANTINE' SINGLE: Blink-182 dropped the brand new track, “Quarantine” on Friday (August 7th). To accompany the song, the band released a music video made from raw footage the group shot on iPhones. Mark Hoppus said in a press release, “This song is about the sadness, confusion, anger and frustration we are all experiencing right now. I hope that everybody is safe and that we can get through this very soon. Can’t wait to see you all on the other side.”
JERICHO DEFENDS FOZZY GIGS: Fozzy played a handful of live shows for the first time in seven months this week, but faced backlash after a fan posted a photo from Saturday (August 8th) night's concert in Minot, South Dakota. The image showed that fans were not social distancing. Lead singer Chris Jericho defended their decision to play, citing low COVID cases in both North and South Dakota. He said on his Saturday Night Special live stream, “The venues are kind of either outside or they're half capacity. We're sold out tonight in Minot with, I think, 50 percent capacity. Last night, we were sold out in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with, I think it was 35 percent capacity. We hand out masks at the door, there are temperature checks — all that sort of stuff. ” (Blabbermouth)
RANDY BLYTHE SAYS 'SOCIALLY DISTANT' CONCERTS WON'T WORK FOR LAMB OF GOD: Randy Blythe recently spoke to Rapture Radio about why socially distant gigs won't work for Lamb of God. He said, “It's not gonna work for a band like Lamb of God. It's not gonna work for a band like Hatebreed. It's not gonna work for any band in our sort of world that, when we play, immediately people smash the crap out of each other. That's just not gonna happen.” He made clear that all of their tours are postponed and that those shows will happen, but not until concerts can be held in the way that they used to. (Blabbermouth)
