Yesterday morning (August 13th), Donald Trump's son-in-law and aide spoke on his meeting with Kanye West. According to TMZ, during a press conference at the White House about his weekend summit with Kanye, and said they had a "great discussion" about a lot of things.
Jared said that he and Ye have been friends for 10 years and said that Ye has great ideas for what he would like to see happen in the country and said that Ye admires a lot of Trump's initiatives.
He said that he and Ivanka met with Kanye to discuss "ideas" and avoided talk about "his campaign and what he's up to." He added, "Unlike others, I'm able to keep friendships across the aisle."
He also revealed that he and Kanye discussed Dr. Claud Anderson's Powernomics, a book about Black economic empowerment. He explained, "Kanye sent me a book about a month ago called 'PowerNomics' … I read the book. It was absolutely phenomenal, it actually incorporated a lot of the things that President Trump has been doing."
In other Kanye news, the music and fashion icon has earned his first Dove Award nominations for his Gospel album Jesus Is King. West earned three nominations, including Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year, Traditional Gospel Album of the Year and his single “Follow God” is up for Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year.
