Evanescence's Amy Lee is sort of breaking her own tradition of avoiding the subjects of politics and social issues with the music with the release of the band's latest single, “Use My Voice.” While she doesn't share her personal beliefs or opinions, she's hoping the song encourages people to vote and use their own voice. Lee told Loudwire Nights, “I've in a way reached a point this year where I feel like silence is a statement that I don't want to make. I needed to express myself in that song. And we began thinking about . . . how can we make things better? Not divide people, not scream from the rooftops. There's a lot of screaming going on.”
“Use My Voice” is from Evanescence's upcoming album, The Bitter Truth, which Lee says is not finished yet.
