Keith Urban finds himself a multiple nominee at the upcoming CMA Awards, it was announced yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 1st). He is up for Male Vocalist, Musical Event, and the night's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year.
More than two decades into his career, Keith tells us EXCLUSIVELY that just the nominations alone become more meaningful as the years go by. “It absolutely gets sweeter as the time goes by, no question, and I really always have grasped the realization that that nomination is the first award cause they only give out a few of them. You've won. You've won a nomination, so it's a huge honor. I mean, a lot of people don't get that or didn't get that. I've leaned more towards deep, deep appreciation for the nomination as well, and then if you get chosen out of all of that it's like, you know . . . it's like whipped cream on ice cream, really (laughs).”
The CMA Awards will take place in Nashville on Nov. 11th and air on ABC.
Keith is also nominated for Male Artist of the Year at this month's ACM Awards, which he will also host for the first time. The show will air live from Nashville on CBS on Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 8 p.m. ET.
