Over the weekend, Shinedown singer Brent Smith paid tribute to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died on Friday (September 18th) at the age of 87. He shared an encounter with Ginsburg just last year at Dulles airport where she sat across from him in a private lounge surrounded by secret service. Smith wrote, “I must tell you I have had the honor of being in the presence of some extraordinary people, but in that moment I was awestruck. I encourage everyone to learn about #ruthbaderginsburg and how ground breaking her ideas were, and still are to this day. Godspeed.”
Ginsburg sat on the bench for 27 years.
She died from complications of metastatic pancreas cancer.
