Megan Thee Stallion made her Saturday Night Live debut this weekend. During the "Savage" rapper's performance, she made a powerful statement with the words "Protect Black Women" on the blackdrop behind her. The performance went on to include audio from Malcolm X's 1962 speech, where he said, “The most disrespected, unprotected, neglected person in America is the black woman. Who taught you to hate the texture of your hair, the color of your skin, the shape of your nose? Who taught you to hate yourself?”
She also included audio of activist Tamika Mallory slamming Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron over the Breonna Taylor Case. Mallory said, “Daniel Cameron is no different than the sellout negroes that sold our people into slavery."
Megan later told the crowd, “We need to protect our Black women and love our Black women … because at the end of the day we need our Black women. “We need to protect out black men and stand up for our black men because at the end of the day, we tired of seeing hashtags of our black men."
