Michael Ray has teased the release of a prequel to the video for his latest single, “Whiskey And Rain.” The song is the lead single to his upcoming third album. The song's video was released in conjunction with “Whiskey And Rain” last month.
The clip features Michael sitting and singing in what looks like a downpour. He tells us EXCLUSIVELY that the rain was no special effect. “It was planned to effects and then the great Lord gave us a beautiful thunderstorm and it poured for hours and the director was like, 'Man, hear me out, this is gonna look really good,' and I was like, 'Yeah, okay,' and I ended up sitting on a cinder block, which is funny cause it looks so cool when he's done with all the stuff, and, yeah, I'm sitting on a cinder block fully clothed in the backyard of this house just in a massive thunderstorm.”
With touring currently on hold, Michael has established a weekly virtual series, Honkytonk Tuesday, where he is joined by surprise guests to perform their favorite ‘80s and ‘90s tunes. To date, he has been joined by Clint Black, Mark Wills, Marty Raybon, Aaron Tippin and Steve Wariner, among others. Honkytonk Tuesdays are streamed live on Michael’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter at 7 p.m. CT and shared on Instagram immediately following the stream.
