Luke Combs has once again made history with the release of his new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, which was released on Friday (Oct. 23rd). On Apple Music, the album reached Number One on their overall U.S. Top Albums chart, making Luke the only country artist in history to top the chart, doing so twice in the past 12 months. He also enjoyed the most first day streams ever for a country album on the platform. This accomplishment breaks Luke’s own record, which he set last November following the release of his platinum-certified, global Number One album, What You See Is What You Get.
The new album track, “Forever After All,” also debuted at Number One on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100: Global Songs chart and broke the record for the biggest first day of streams for a country song. Luke is also Apple Music’s most streamed country artist this year.
On Spotify, Luke achieved the biggest all-time first day streaming record for a country album, at the same time breaking the record that he’s held since the release of What You See Is What You Get.
Meanwhile, “Forever After All” had the most first day streams for a country track by a solo artist and reached Number Two on Spotify’s Top 10 Global Song Debuts chart. Three additional deluxe tracks also landed on the chart: “The Other Guy” (No. 6), “Cold As You” (No. 7) and “My Kinda Folk” (No. 9).
“Forever After All” also has a good shot at becoming the Number One song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which has never been done by a country song. Luke reached out to fans via an Instagram video yesterday (Wednesday, Oct. 28th) to ask for their help in making this happen. He wrote, “WE have a chance to make history. Never has a song debuted at No. 1 on The Hot 100 & Hot Country Songs Chart. To further help make this happen for “Forever After All,” purchase the song on iTunes or Amazon for $1.29. Thank y’all for everything you do. Love you guys.”
