Although it was Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.'s fight, Snoop Dogg was the clear winner on Saturday night (November 28th) with his hilarious commentary. When former NBA Slam Dunk champ Nate Robinson got knocked out by YouTube star Jake Paul, Snoop said, “Oh my GOD!Lord have mercy! Oh, Jesus! Oh, Lawd! Precioussss Lawwdddd … take my handddd… lead my onnnnn … let me standdddd…”
During the second knockout, Snoop said, “Good night Irene. Oh, Lawd!”
Nate took to Instagram to thank his followers yesterday (November 29th), saying, “I need to thank all my brothers for the support! There are too many to name, and IG only lets me choose 10 pics..but I’ve seen every one of you. HUGE shout out to my brother KG for being there, and all of y’all that have reached out to me PERSONALLY…Mike Bibby, Carlos Arroyo, Bonzi Wells, Malik Rose, everyone in these pics, etc. It means the world and we’re gonna come back even better. #holdat.”
Before Tyson and Jones came out, Snoop performed a medley of his hits, including “B*tch Please,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Down 4 My N*ggas.” Lil Wayne was originally supposed to perform but he pulled out hours before the fight. He said in a statement, “Due to unforeseeable circumstances I won’t be performing tonight at the Tyson/Jones fight. Hope the event is still a success and much love to Triller. Love.”
YG, Swae Lee, French Montana, SAINt JHn and Wiz Khalifa also performed, while Ne-Yo sand the National Angthem.
According to Yahoo Sports, Tyson made $10 million from the fight, while Roy Jones Jr. made $3 million.
