The White Stripes are continuing to celebrate their greatest hits album with the rerelease of two legendary Saturday Night Live performances, the release of their international single b-sides, and a new live album.
The two SNL performances – “Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground” and “We’re Going To Be Friends” – are streaming now exclusively at NBC.com and the official Saturday Night Live YouTube channel. They are from White Stripes’ one and only SNL appearance on October 19th, 2002.
Additionally, a handful of international single b-sides have been released digitally worldwide, marking their first digital release in the US and Canada.
The White Strips Live at 40 Watt in Athens, GA was also released on Monday (December 14th). The 11-track live collection recorded September 27th, 1999 at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA and available exclusively via the official Third Man Records Bandcamp through Sunday, December 20th only Proceeds will directly benefit Fair Fight, the voter participation advocacy group founded by Stacey Abrams.
The White Stripes Greatest Hits debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Current Rock Albums and Current Alternative Albums charts, as well as hitting #2 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The album also reached #4 on the Billboard Top Albums and Top Current Albums charts.
