Taylor Momsen has opened up about giving up on life after losing her partner in crime Kato Khandwala and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell in one year. She told TheFortyFive.com that she had reached her lowest point after Cornell's death.
She explained, “I was at a transitory state in my life where I had to make a very conscious decision — because I was in such a dark place — to either make the decision of death, as in I’m gonna die with what I’m doing to myself right now, or I have to change and I have to move forward.” She added, “I didn’t know if I ever would get out of it, and I really didn’t know if I wanted to.”
Shortly after reaching out to Kato to get the wheels in motion and return to the studio, she got the call that he had been killed in a motorcycle crash. She said that this was the “nail in the coffin.”
She explained, “I had given up on everything. I gave up on life. I looked around and thought: ‘Everything I love is dead. What’s the f*cking point?'”
